Error installing Windows 10 - you can do that
- Before you start installing Windows 10, you should make sure that Windows 10 works on your PC.
- In general, we recommend that you update your PC with Windows Update prior to installation.
- Also make sure you are installing the original Microsoft operating system.
- If you want to install Windows 10 from a DVD, it should be free of major dirt and scratches.
- You have to make sure that your PC starts from the DVD. You can set this in the BIOS.
- Alternatively, you can install Windows 10 from a USB stick if there are problems with the DVD.
Other solutions: Windows 10 installation failed
- In some cases, an incorrect file download can be responsible for the error. Therefore open the folder "C: \ Windows \ SoftwareDistribution \ Download" and delete the entire content.
- Now you have to open the command prompt. To do this, go to the start menu, select "Run" and enter "cmd". Vista users can execute this command directly in the search field: Enter "wuauclt.exe / updatenow" in the command prompt and confirm with [Enter].
- Now check for updates in Windows Update. You should see an upgrade to Windows 10, which is now easy to download and install.
