One of the new features in Windows 10 is the Info Center, which shows new notifications. You can disable it when you are not using it. We show you step by step how to do this.
Disable Info Center in Windows 10
You can open the Info Center using an icon in the Windows taskbar. If you deactivate this symbol, the Info Center is also switched off:
- Press the key combination [Windows] + [I] and wait for the Windows settings to open.
- In the new window, click on "Personalization" and then on the left on "Taskbar".
- Scroll down to the "Notification area" section and click the "Enable or disable system icons" entry.
- There, deactivate the "Info Center" item.
- This will cause the info area to disappear from the taskbar. It can still be called up using the key combination [Windows] + [A].
Remove Info Center in older versions of Windows 10
The above instructions work for all Windows 10 editions from version 10586. For older versions, do a little differently:
- Open the Settings app with the key combination [Windows] + [I].
- Then click on "System" and switch to the "Notifications and Actions" tab.
- There you choose the option "Activate or deactivate system symbols".
- At the end of the list you will find the information center. If you set the switch to "Off", the icon disappears from the taskbar.
If you want to improve Windows 10 optically, you can make the start menu and the taskbar transparent.
