Windows 10: disable tiles in the Start menu - does it work?
In this practical tip, we will explain how to deactivate the tiles in the Windows 10 Start menu. This is currently not possible with a single setting, but you can detach all individual tiles from the menu. We'll show you how.
Disable tiles in the Windows 10 start menu
- Click the Office icon at the bottom left to open the Start menu.
- Then click on each of the tiles you want to deactivate.
- Select "Detach from start".
- However, please note that the start menu remains so wide. Even if you have removed all tiles, the start menu is not reduced to a narrow size.
Retrieve the old start menu
