Windows 10: reinstallation without a key - how it works
If you want to set up or reset your laptop, Windows 10 will also be reinstalled. A key is not always necessary. We show you in which cases you need the license key and when you don't.
Reinstall Windows 10 without a product key
- If you already have (or had) Windows 10 installed, in most cases you don't need the product key. You will then easily skip the key input when you set up your computer again.
- You don't need a key even if you reset the computer. Even if you exchange the hard drive for an SSD, you can skip the key entry.
- You only need your personal license key when you change the mainboard. On the next page, we will show you how to find out the Windows 10 key.
