The number pad is easy to activate in Windows 10. However, it is annoying that it is deactivated again with every restart. So read with us how you can activate it permanently.
Registry change under Windows 10: Permanently activate the number pad
If you are disturbed by the fact that the number pad is permanently deactivated under Windows 10 in contrast to previous versions of Windows, you can activate it permanently in the registry.
- First, simultaneously press Windows key + R.
- Enter "regedit" without quotes and press Enter. You may then have to affirm user account control.
- You will now find a navigation bar on the left. Click through to the path "Computer \ HKEY_USERS \ .DEFAULT \ Control Panel \ Keyboard".
- Then double-click on "InitialKeyboardIndicators".
- A small window opens with a value. Most users have 2147483648 here. Add plus 2 to this value, in this case 2147483650. Important: Do not add the 2 to the last digit, but to the total value!
- Finally, click OK". The number pad is now permanently activated.
