Windows 10: Solve WiFi problems
In this practical tip, we explain how to solve WLAN problems in Windows 10. However, the latest Windows 10 versions no longer suffer from the serious WLAN problems of the Technical Preview.
Update fixes WiFi problem on Windows 10
For the Windows 10 Technical Preview, it was problematic to recognize the type of network connection used. The symbol for a LAN connection was always displayed, even if you actually went to the network via WLAN.
- This problem is no longer present in the latest versions of Windows 10.
- Keep your Windows 10 operating system up to date so that you can continue to surf without problems. To do this, open the "Settings" via the search.
- Install the latest versions under "Update and Security" and "Windows Update".
Windows 10: New driver can fix WiFi problem
If your problem is different from an incorrectly displayed connection, a new WLAN driver can help.
- Download the latest driver for your WLAN device for Windows 8.1 from the network and save it to your hard drive.
- Start the Device Manager, deactivate the WLAN driver and then delete it.
- Now restart the computer and then install the new driver package.
- After the installation, deactivate the WLAN driver and restart the computer again.
- Activate the WLAN driver again after the restart. You should now be able to establish a WLAN connection.
