Uninstall Windows 10 correctly - how it works
If you no longer want to use Windows 10 or reinstall it, you can uninstall the operating system from your computer. We'll show you how it's done.
Uninstall Windows 10: Reinstall the operating system
- If you want to reinstall Windows 10 or use a different operating system, you do not have to uninstall Windows. With the new installation, Windows 10 is automatically overwritten.
- Simply download the Windows 10 ISO file and the reinstallation will start automatically. Alternatively, you can reinstall Windows using a USB stick or simply insert the installation DVD when it starts.
- Windows 10 also has a feature that allows the operating system to reinstall itself. You can find instructions in the practical tip "Restore Windows 10 without CD".
Uninstall Windows 10 - Here's how
- If you no longer want to use your computer and completely empty it, this unfortunately does not work easily. The easiest way is by simply reinstalling Windows 10 as described above.
- If you still want to clear the hard drive completely, you can play GParted on a bootable medium and use it to format the hard drive completely.
