- Go to the "Autostart" tab.

Virtual memory is enabled by default in Windows 10. If your hard drive is not an SSD, the virtual RAM will slow down your system.
- Enter "System Properties" in the start menu and click on the "Show advanced system settings" found.
- Under the "Advanced" tab, click on the "Settings" button in the "Performance" area.
- Here you click on the "Advanced" tab and there on the "Change" button.
- Uncheck "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives".
- Select the "No swap file" option below.
- Confirm all windows with "OK".
Windows 10: turn off visual effects
Another way to make your system faster is to turn off the visual effects.
- In the Start menu, type "Appearance" and click on the found "Customize the appearance and performance of Windows".
- If not already selected, click here on the "Visual Effects" tab.
- Check the "Adjust for best performance" option.
- Confirm with "OK".
Windows 10: Remove unnecessary programs
Try out new programs or apps from time to time on your computer and use up valuable system resources without you even needing the applications. Every now and then you should check the installed programs and remove them if necessary:
- Open the Windows 10 Start menu and click the gear icon to open Settings.
- Select "Apps"
- You will now see an overview of all installed programs in the "Apps & Features" area. Remove applications that are no longer required by selecting them first and then clicking on "Uninstall".
- With most programs, you then have to follow the instructions for uninstallation.
Windows 10: turn off background apps
Some Windows apps run permanently in the background, so you can get information or notifications at any time. Too many installed apps take up memory and thus degrade the performance of your computer:
