Windows 10: Save lock screen images
Saving takes a little effort, but is worthwhile in retrospect given the beauty of the photos.
- Press the key combination [Windows] + [R].
- Copy the following line into the existing window "% localappdata% \ Packages \ Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy \ LocalState \ Assets" and confirm with "OK".
- A folder should now open in which you can find the pictures.
- Mark all pictures in the folder with [Ctrl] + [A] and copy them to your desktop, for example. Confirm the safety information that appears with "OK".
- Create a new folder with any name in your picture folder and paste the previously copied files into this folder.
- The files cannot be opened directly, you must add the extension ".webp".
- To do this, you can simply press the [Shift] key and at the same time right-click in the white area in the folder.
- In the menu that opens, select "Open command prompt here".
- Enter the text "Ren *. ** * .webp" (without quotation marks) in the prompt and confirm the entry with [Enter].
- The previews of the individual images should now be displayed in the folder. You can delete the faulty files, these are system files.
- You can use the .webp files now available as usual.
