The Windows 10 Spring Creators Update is expected to appear in April 2018. What many do not know: Microsoft also has different names for its Windows 10 versions. The new version is called Redstone 4, but the official name is Spring Creators Update. We'll show you what to expect right now.
What's new in the Spring Creators Update from Windows 10
- The biggest innovation will probably be the "timeline". The user should get a chronological overview of which websites he has visited in the last 30 days, which apps have been opened or which documents he has recently worked on. This should enable him to continue at the point he chooses from the timeline. Since the timeline can grow quickly, a search function makes it easier to find.
- In addition, Cortana will remind you of previous work and enable you to return to work similar to the timeline. However, this does not only affect the PC you are currently working on. The function is linked to your Microsoft account and therefore cross-PC.
- With the Spring Creators Update, Windows Mixed Reality is also on the PC. The new Skyloft offers a virtual environment for entry into the world of virtual reality.
- For friends of emoji, the Spring Creators Update comes with its own emoji keyboard. The small pictures were specially processed for this.
- Sharing files and links via Bluetooth is easier thanks to a new sharing function that is similar to the Apple Airdrop function.
- The contact bar came with the Herbst Creators Update, this is improved in the new update. In the future, you can pin up to ten instead of just three contacts.
- Something is also happening with the Microsoft Edge browser: there is dark mode for high-contrast surfing, and there is also a mute switch for individual tabs.
- Updates should land faster on the Windows 10 computer in the future. Sleep mode is blocked when the system is looking for an update.
