Windows 10 Control Panel: Create Desktop Shortcut
If you want to quickly reach the control panel under Windows 10, you can put a shortcut on the desktop. We'll tell you how this works in this article.
Windows 10: Control Panel on the Deskop
With normal programs you can simply create a desktop shortcut via the context menu. You have to do a little differently with the control panel.
- Open the Settings app either via the Start menu or the key combination [Windows key] + [I].
- In the new window click on "Personalization" and switch to the "Design" tab.
- Select the "Desktop icon settings" entry there.
- In the "Desktop Icons" section, check "Control Panel".
- Confirm the selection with "OK", the link should automatically appear on the desktop. If this is not the case, restart your computer.
