Windows 10 offers a separate app for most settings. But Microsoft has not given up the traditional control panel either. We'll show you how to open both tools.
Windows 10: Start Classic Control Panel
The classic control panel corresponds to the conventional control panel from Windows Vista and Windows 7. Since then, the system tool has hardly changed, so that you can continue to make almost every setting for your PC.
- The fastest way to open the Control Panel is to click in the search field of your taskbar and enter the command "Control Panel".
- Alternatively, press the key combination [Windows] + [X] and select the entry "Control Panel" from the list.
Open advanced control panel in Windows 10
The advanced control panel describes the new Settings app in Windows 10. Here you can also make all important system settings.
- Click on the Windows logo in your task bar and you will find the "Settings" entry there. After a click, the new control panel opens in a new window.
- Alternatively, press the key combination [Windows] + [I]. This also opens the Settings app.
- Of course you can also type "Settings" in the Windows search and start the app of the same name.
