Windows 10: taskbar cut off - what to do?
A bug in Windows 10 causes a display error for many users: the clock in the taskbar is cut in half. In this case, you can try out the following approaches:
- A quick remedy can be found by clicking on an icon in the task bar. For example, if you click on the loudspeaker symbol, the clock will move to the correct position in many cases.
- Often, an incorrect scaling setting will cause the problem: Right-click on the desktop and click "Display Settings". Slide the "Size of text, apps, and other items" slider to 100 percent. If the controller is already at 100 percent, change the scaling temporarily and then switch back to 100 percent.
- Update your graphics driver. We explain how this works here. Then restart your PC.
- The "Fix taskbar" function may be causing the problem. Right-click on an empty area in the taskbar and deactivate the function. You can now manually adjust the height of the taskbar. Often this will fix the problem.
On the next page we will show you which settings you can make on the taskbar.
