If you want to update your PC to Windows 10, you can do this directly via the Windows update service. However, it often breaks off. We will therefore show you below what you can do about it.
Windows 10: Update aborts - so you solve the problem
- Open Windows Explorer and change to the "C: \ Windows \ SoftwareDistribution \ Download" folder.
- Delete all files in this folder.
- The update may be blocked by your antivirus or firewall. Therefore, switch off both services briefly until the update has been carried out successfully.
- During the update you should close all background programs that you do not currently need. This ensures that the update gets the most resources.
- Sometimes the Windows update service itself causes problems, which can lead to installation errors.
- If the solutions mentioned above do not improve, download the Windows 10 ISO file from our download portal and install it manually.
- In order for the installation to work, you must create a boot CD.
