Windows 10 Home - the basic version for everyone
Windows 10 Home is the standard version for home users. The edition runs on desktop PCs, laptops and tablets.
- You will receive all the functions you need, such as the new notification center, the start menu, automatic updates and all functions known from previous versions of Windows.
- If you have a PC with Windows 7 Home or Windows 8.1, you will receive the update free of charge.
Windows 10 Pro - for professional home use
This version is suitable for professional users and is based on Windows 10 Home. It is suitable for both private users and small businesses.
- In contrast to Windows 10 Home, the Pro Edition also includes slightly different file management and a configurable update function.
- If you are currently using Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate or Windows 8.1 Pro, you will get the update to this version for free.
Windows 10 Enterprise - the Windows for your company
However, Windows 10 Enterprise is specially designed for use in companies.
- Based on Windows 10 Pro, this version offers extensive security and update functions for your company.
- You can purchase Windows 10 Enterprise through volume licenses and then use it without restriction in your company.
Windows 10 Education - Windows for Education
Windows 10 Education is a modified version of Windows 10 Enterprise. This version of Windows is aimed primarily at educational institutions such as schools or universities.
- There are no differences in the range of functions. Pupils and students can enjoy all the available features.
- Windows 10 Education, like Windows 10 Enterprise, is distributed via volume licenses, but at more favorable terms.
Windows 10 Mobile - the successor to Windows Phone 8.1
Windows 10 Mobile is designed for mobile devices and is the successor to Windows Phone 8.1. A certain similarity to normal Windows 10 can be seen immediately:
- Smaller tablets and smartphones in particular can be operated with this version. The apps differ only in their presentation from those for desktop PCs.
- With Microsoft Continuum you can even operate your smartphone as a PC.
- If you are currently using a Lumia smartphone with Windows Phone 8.1, you will receive the update free of charge. The version is even preinstalled on newer Windows phones.
- There is also a special mobile version of Windows 10 for companies. The Mobile Enterprise edition offers extensive security and update functions.
Windows 10 IoT - the developer version for microcomputers
Windows 10 IoT is a version for embedded systems.
- They can be tiny computers like the Raspberry Pi, smaller gadgets, but also devices like ATMs.
