Windows 10 fails due to missing VMware driver - you can do that
The installation of the Windows 10 Technical Preview via ISO and VMware Player is relatively easy. Nevertheless, you may get the message that a driver is missing. The error is mostly due to the selected setting.
- If you use the VMware Player for the Windows 10 installation, first run through a few program windows in which you have to make the necessary settings. The wrong specification can cause the message about the missing driver.
- In the "Select a Guest Operating System" window, select "Microsoft Windows" first. You should specify the Windows version below. Windows 10 is not shown as an option here. Therefore choose "Windows 8 x64". With this setting, VMware automatically installs all required drivers with the operating system. The installation should therefore be carried out without any problems.
