Windows 10: share WiFi password - so it'll work
Windows 10 brings some new features that allow you to share the WiFi password. We show you how exactly the function works and how to activate sharing yourself under Windows 10.
Windows 10 shares WiFi password with friends
Note: The feature was recently released by Microsoft, but doesn't seem to be working properly yet. In addition, there are still some open questions.
- In Windows 10 you can share your WiFi password with your Facebook, Outlook and Skype contacts. However, you cannot differentiate between individual people. In concrete terms, this means: all or none.
- According to Microsoft, your WLAN password is transmitted in encrypted form and also stored encrypted on Microsoft's servers. Connected friends have access to the WiFi network, but the password cannot be viewed.
- How exactly your friends and relatives should now get the WiFi password remains unclear. It is also not known whether an active internet connection is required. You need a Microsoft account to use the function.
