Find 32-bit programs in Explorer
64-bit programs are usually stored in a separate folder. So you can already tell the different programs by their location:
- Navigate to the path "C: \ Program Files (x86)". Here you will find all programs that are tailored to the 32-bit kernel.
- The 64-bit programs, on the other hand, are stored in the "C: \ Programs" folder.
Distinguish 32-bit and 64-bit software in the Task Manager
You can find installed programs in more detail using the Task Manager:
- To do this, press the key combination [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [Esc].
- Then switch to the "Processes" tab in the Task Manager.
- There you will find all programs that are currently running. Processes with the addition "* 32" are 32-bit programs.
- This allows you to quickly check which programs are still tailored to the weaker kernel. For many, there is already a faster 64-bit version. You can find these in our download area.
