Windows 7/10: Show installation date - how it works
If you want to know when you started using Windows 7 or 10, you can view the installation date. We'll explain exactly how to do this.
System installation: How to find out the date of Windows 7
With a simple command in the command prompt you can see when you have installed Windows 7:
- Click on the start button and enter "cmd" in the search.
- Open the command prompt of the same name, enter the command "systeminfo" and press [Enter].
- Under "Original installation date" you will find the date on which you installed Windows 7.
Find out the installation date of Windows 8, 8.1 and Windows 10
- Press the [Windows] and [X] keys at the same time and then click on "Command Prompt".
- Enter the following command or copy it from here: systeminfo | find "original installation date"
