Windows 7: Activate administrator account - how it works
The administrator account is deactivated by default in Windows 7. Here's how to activate it in just a few steps.
How to activate the administrator account in Windows 7
- First click on "Start" and then on "All Programs".
- Then scroll down to the "Accessories" folder and open it.
- Right click on "Command Prompt" and select "Run as administrator".
- Confirm the security question of "User Account Control" with "Yes".
- In the "Administrator Command Prompt" window, enter the following command: "net user Administrator / active: yes".
- For security reasons, it is not recommended to activate the administrator account longer than necessary. You should therefore deactivate it again as soon as possible. The command to do this is: "net user Administrator / active: no".
