Windows 7: bypass activation - so it'll work
If you have misplaced your Windows license key, you can also bypass Windows 7 activation. In this guide, we show you how to do this.
Bypass activation of Windows 7 - how it works
Since Windows XP, Microsoft has required activation of the operating system to prevent the use of pirated copies. However, if you misplace your license key, you can also bypass the activation:
- First, disable the SPP notification service. To do this, open the "Run" window with the key combination [WINDOWS] + [R] and enter the command "services.msc".
- In the following window look for "SPP Notification Service". If you right-click on it, the context menu opens. Here select "All tasks> Exit".
- Then right-click on the service again and select "Properties" this time. Under the "General" tab you will see the "Start type" item. Change the setting to "Deactivated" and confirm this.
- Next, choose to show hidden files as well.
- Switch to your workplace. Search for the files "Slui.exe", "Sppuinotify.dll", "Sppwinob.dll" and "Sppsvc.exe". You can usually find this on drive C in the path "WINDOWS / SYSTEM32".
- Right-click on the first file and open the "Properties". Under the "Security" tab, go to "Advanced" and then switch to the "Owner" tab. There, click on the "Edit ..." button and select "Administrators" as the new owner in the new window.
- Then click on "Edit" in the properties window under the "Security" tab. Select "Administrators" and allow "full access" by ticking accordingly. If there are any problems, you must first remove the file write protection.
- Repeat steps 6 and 7 in the same way for the other three files.
- In the next step, rename these four files, for example "Slui.exe.old".
- When the computer is restarted, you bypass the license activation bypass.
