Windows 7: Search computers on the network
With this practical tip we show you how to search for a computer under Windows 7 in the network. This is useful, for example, if you want to connect to it.
How to find a computer on the network in Windows 7
To be able to connect to another computer within a network, you must first call up the corresponding overview. Proceed as follows:
- Start Windows Explorer.
- Then select "Network" in the left pane. You will now see an overview of all devices that are connected to the network. These include, for example, printers and routers, but also computers.
- Search for "Computer" in this overview and look at the list below. You will see other PCs in addition to your own computer, provided they are also connected to the network.
- Tip: If you want to connect your computer to the home network group at home or search for another PC there, switch to the "Home network group" menu item in Windows Explorer.
