You cannot only mark several files at the same time with Ctrl; in Windows 7 you can also select documents using the checkbox. We'll show you how to activate this feature.
Activate the checkbox for files - how it works
If you mark a lot of files, you quickly lose track. The file selection with separate check boxes is a little more practical. These can be activated via the folder settings:
- To do this, open Windows Explorer with the key combination [Windows] + [E].
- Click Organize in the status bar, then choose Folder and Search Options.
- In the new window, switch to the "View" tab.
- Place a checkmark in front of "Use checkbox to select elements" (see screenshot). Then confirm the changes with "Ok".
- There is now a small checkbox for each file that you can select. However, your documents can still be opened with a double click and marked with the Shift key.
