Windows 7: create your own keyboard shortcuts - does it work?
With Windows 7 you can assign your own keyboard shortcuts with which you can easily open programs. We show you how it works.
Create shortcut in Windows 7
To create a shortcut to open a program, you must first have a shortcut to the program.
- Most programs already have a shortcut on your desktop. If this is not the case, you have to right-click on the desired .exe file in the folder in which the program is installed. Then select the "Create shortcut" option.
Assign key combination
- Right click on the shortcut and select "Properties".
- Press the empty field behind "Key combination". You can select a key that, with the combination [CTRL] + [ALT], forms a key combination for this program. Make sure that the key combination is not being used by another program.
