Windows 7: Show a message after startup
In Windows 7, you can have a message appear automatically when the computer starts up. This is particularly helpful if several users are accessing the PC and you want to store, for example, quick instructions on how to log in or a support telephone number.
Show message when Windows 7 starts - how it works
- Click "Start" and type "regedit" in the search field.
- In the so-called "Registry Editor" you have to search for the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Current Version \ Policies \ System.
- In the last folder "System" you will find the registry file "legalnoticetext" (see picture).
- Open it with a double click and enter the desired message in the "Value" field.
- The next time you start your computer, the message will appear automatically.
