Windows 7: Remove the color cast of the photo display
If the photo display in Windows 7 has a color cast that cannot be removed in a graphics program, this may be due to an unsuitable color profile. Possibly. this was installed with a Windows update to better adapt the color rendering of the monitor to reality. However, not all programs take this color profile into account. You can find out how to delete the profile here.
Easily remove Windows 7 color cast
- To do this, open the Control Panel and change the setting to "Large icons" at the top right under "Display".
- Click on the now visible "Color management".
- In the »Devices« tab, check that the relevant screen is set as the device.
- Below this, activate the option »Use my own settings for the device«.
- The list below shows the assigned profile. Select this and click on "Remove".
- Confirm with »Continue«. After closing the dialog, the problem should be resolved.
Note: As long as you do not use individual color profiles for the devices, understand their relationships and really need them, you should better refrain from working with color profiles and use the standard settings of the system. If you do not want to delete the profile and want to try another image editing program first, you will find a large selection in the CHIP download area.
