Windows 7: Find large files - how it works
To find large files on the PC, you usually have to search a lot. A little trick helps to track down and makes the search a lot easier.
Find large files - this is how you find space wasters
- First open a folder, for example "My Documents".
- Right-click on a free space in the file list. You cannot select a file here.
- Now call "Sort by"> "Size" in the context menu.
- All files are now sorted according to size, including the folders.
Windows 7: Find large files using software
- If you don't want to go through all the folders by hand, you can hand over the work to a program. Tools like "SpaceSniffer" and "TreeSize" help for free.
- The SpaceSniffer clearly shows you which files, folders and programs take up a lot of space. Advanced users can work even more efficiently with TreeSize.
