Windows 7: account locked - what to do?
Windows is considered fairly secure. This practical tip shows you what you can do if your Windows 7 account is suddenly blocked.
You can do that if your Windows account is locked
- Log in with the guest account and go to Control Panel> "User Accounts". Click "Manage other accounts" here. You can unlock your locked account here or create a new one.
- If this is not possible, open "Run" and enter the following command there: "runas / user: computername \ administrator“ msc% windir% \ system32 \ compmgmgt.msc ". Exchange "computer name" with your computer name. This will open Computer Management.
- If that doesn't help either, open the command prompt with a right click> "Run as administrator".
- Enter the command "net user administrator / active" there. This activates the system "administrator" account.
This practical tip is based on Microsoft Windows 7. In the next practical tip we will tell you what user profiles are actually under Windows and what you need them for.
