Windows 7: Activate volume compensation
In Windows 7, you can bring all your music down to a common denominator with volume compensation. We show you how to activate the feature.
Enable automatic volume compensation in Windows 7
When you listen to music, many songs sound differently loud, even though you haven't changed the volume. With the automatic volume compensation of Windows 7, the volume of your songs is automatically standardized:
- Click on the "Windows icon" in the task bar and enter "Manage audio devices" in the search field. Confirm with the Enter key.
- Once in the sound settings, click once on your speaker and then on "Properties".
- In the settings window, switch to the "Improvements" tab.
- Scroll down the list and check the box "Volume compensation".
- Confirm the changes with "Apply".
Alternatively, you can also adjust the volume of individual MP3 tracks.
