Windows 7 logs off automatically - this may be the reason
If Windows 7 logs off automatically, this may be due to incorrect settings. Here in this practical tip you will find all possible solutions to the problem.
Windows 7 logs out automatically - you can do that
If you are automatically logged out after logging in to Windows 7, simply follow the steps below:
- First switch to the control panel of your PC and open "Customization" here. Click on "Screen Saver" and make sure that either there is no screen saver or the checkbox next to "Login page after reactivation" (see picture).
- In addition, in the "Energy Settings" in the "Control Panel" under "Advanced Settings" all settings should be set to "never".
- You may also have caught a virus that forces automatic logoff. We'll explain how to deal with a virus attack.
- Open the start menu and enter "msconfig" in the search field. Confirm with [Enter]. The "Autostart" tab should only contain programs that you trust and that you know.
- If you have a keyboard with buttons for shutting down or logging out of the computer, you should try removing it from the PC. These buttons may have loose contacts, which is why you will be logged out.
- If these tips don't help, you can create a new user in Windows. This can often solve the problem.
In our next practical tip, we'll tell you what it can be like if Windows 7 doesn't find any updates.
