Windows 7: Mount NAS - how it works
With the Windows 7 operating system, you can easily integrate your network hard drive (NAS) and have access to documents, photos or videos from this central location. We show you how this works in this guide.
Windows 7: Mount NAS
You can use Windows Explorer to set up the network hard disk (NAS) as a network drive.
- Right-click the Windows 7 Start menu to open Windows Explorer from the context menu.
- Then select the "Network" submenu on the left. Pressing the "Alt" key opens a menu. Click on "Tools" to then select the "Connect network drive" button.
- A dialog box opens, which you can use to select a suitable drive letter in the "Drive" field.
- The IP address of the NAS and the share name are entered in the "Folder" field. The entry can look like this, for example: \\ 192.168.1.31 \ Release.
- Check the box next to the option "Reconnect at login". Click Finish".
- Now a second dialog window opens. You will be asked to enter a user name and a password. Click OK".
- The drive appears under "Computer" with the corresponding letter.
