Windows 7: Change folder background - how it works
This guide shows you how to change the background of folders in Windows 7.
Change folder background in Windows 7
- To set a background image for Windows 7 folders, you need the free tool AveFolderBG.
- Unzip the downloaded ZIP archive into a new folder.
- Double-click the "install.bat" file in the folder and confirm the security question. You need to be logged in as an administrator.
- Restart Explorer. You can either log out and log in again or restart your PC.
- Navigate to the folder where you want to set a wallpaper. Right-click on an empty space in the folder and select "Properties".
- Click on the "Folder Background" tab and select "Set Image". You can now choose an image of your choice from your hard drive.
- If you tick "Apply to sub folders also", the selected image is set as the background for all subfolders.
- Confirm the process by clicking on "Apply".
