Windows 7: Set password for user account

If you want to protect your user account under Windows 7, you should set up a password. We'll show you how to do this.

Set up user account password in Windows 7

1. Start Windows 7 and log in to your account.
2. Click on the Windows symbol in the task bar and in the start menu on the top right on your profile picture.
3. In the new window, select the option "Create password for your own account".
4. Then enter your desired password twice. In the "Enter password hint" field you can also specify a tip that appears if you enter it incorrectly.
5. Save your password using "Create password".
