Windows 7: Add Russian keyboard
In this practical tip we will explain how to add the Russian keyboard in Windows 7. You can not only write texts in one language, but also mixed texts in many languages. All you have to do is make a setting in the control panel of the operating system.
Add Russian keyboard in Windows 7
- In Windows 7, open the "Control Panel" via the Start menu.
- Under "Time, Language and Region" click on "Change keyboards and input methods".
- In the new dialog window, click the "Change keyboards" button.
- If necessary, select the "General" tab and click the "Add" button.
- Now click on the plus sign to the left of "Russia (Russian Federation)" in the left display and then on the plus sign next to "Keyboard".
- Place a checkmark next to the "Russian" option. Confirm the change with "OK".
- Then click back in the "Text Services and Input Languages" dialog box on the "Language bar" tab and check the "Fix taskbar" and "Show language bar with text titles" checkboxes. Save the changes here also with "OK".
- The keyboard toggle icon now appears in the task bar next to the clock. Click on it and select the keyboard you want to write on.
