Hide system tray icons in Windows 7
The taskbar in Windows 7 is often overloaded with many symbols that you don't actually need. How to deactivate the display:
- Right-click on an empty space on the taskbar and select "Properties".
- In the following window, select the "Customize" button next to "Notification area".
- In addition to the respective symbols, you can determine the behavior in the new window. Click on the small arrow to the right of the options of the respective info symbol. You can now hide the symbols and notifications here.
- Alternatively, click on "Activate or deactivate system icons" below. System symbols such as the clock and battery level indicator can also be switched off in the new window.
- Finally, click "OK" to apply the settings.
