Windows 7: Create system repair disc
As a precaution, you should create a system repair disc so that you can restore your Windows system after a crash. So in an emergency you have an emergency CD at hand to save your important data.
Create system repair disk in Windows 7 - how it works
- Insert a blank CD or DVD into your drive. If you don't have a CD at hand, you can also use a USB stick.
- Click "Start" and look for "System Repair Disk". Select the search result "Create System Repair Media".
- Alternatively, you can also find the menu in the Control Panel: Select "System and Maintenance", then "Backup and Restore". Now click on "Create System Repair Media".
- A new window is opening up. Select the drive in which the blank CD or USB stick is located from the dropdown menu and click on "Create disk".
- Windows now collects the files for your system repair data medium and burns them to your CD / DVD or writes them to your USB stick.
- When the process is complete, you can remove the disk and use it for system recovery.
