Mouse: Change key assignment
Depending on the manufacturer of your mouse, you can also completely reset the key assignment. To do this, you have to open the respective settings program of the manufacturer of your mouse. In the example we use a wireless mouse from Microsoft.
- Click on the "Windows symbol" in the task bar and enter "mouse" here.
- Now click on "Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center". You are now in the Microsoft settings program.
- To change the assignment of a mouse button, click on the desired mouse button and then select one of the commands shown.
- If you don't see all of the commands, click All Commands.
- If you only want to assign the mouse buttons specifically in one program or game, click on "Application-specific settings". Then add the desired program to the list under "Add". To add a game, scroll down and select "Add a program manually". Then you can only set the individual mouse buttons for this program as in point 3.
- The changes are applied automatically.
