If you want to connect a mobile device via Bluetooth to a Windows 8 computer, you have to activate Bluetooth first. We'll show you how it's done.
Activate Bluetooth in Windows 8.1
- Move the mouse to the upper or lower right corner of the screen so that the Charm Bar opens.
- Select "Settings" at the bottom and then "Change PC settings".
- A new window opens in which you select the "PC and devices" category on the left.
- You can activate the component under the menu item "Bluetooth". It then searches for available devices that you can then connect to.
- Alternatively, you can also go to the Bluetooth settings via the Windows search - simply enter "Bluetooth" there.
Important note: Of course, the above instructions only work if your notebook / PC actually has Bluetooth. To check this, open the Windows device manager (see picture) - if the blue Bluetooth symbol is not displayed there, your device is not Bluetooth-enabled.
