Windows 8.1: Remove download arrows in tiles
If you have updated to Windows 8.1, small "download arrows" may appear in many tiles. You can find out how to get rid of them in this practical tip.
Windows 8.1: Arrows on tiles do not disappear
After installing Windows 8.1, all apps will be reinstalled. However, on some computers there is an error that the installation of some Windows apps does not finish correctly. The apps can be opened, but they are still in the installation status for the system. The only way to remove the arrows is to reinstall the app.
- Click the Windows button at the bottom left of the screen so that you get to the start screen.
- At the very bottom you will see an arrow pointing down. The arrow will take you to all installed apps.
- Right-click on any app that says "is being installed" and choose "Uninstall" below. Make a note of all apps that need to be removed beforehand.
- Now you have to "install" these apps manually: Open the "Store" app and enter the name of the first app in the search at the top right. Select the app and click "Install". Follow the same procedure for all other removed apps.
- The apps should now be installed correctly and completely.
