Windows 8.1: change color
Under Windows 8.1 you have significantly more options to change the colors used. The start menu in particular can be designed so much more individually. You can find out where and how you can adjust the color of the control elements in this practical tip.
Set background and accent color in Windows 8.1
- Search for "colors" via the start menu or via [Windows key + Q].
- In the results in "Settings" you will find the tile "Change background and colors of the start pages". Click on it.
- On the right edge of the screen you will now see a menu in which you can change the background pattern, the background color and the accent color.
- For the colors, you can first click on the basic color at the bottom of the palette and then you can choose between different shades of the color.
- Your adjustments are displayed in the background of the start menu. When you are satisfied with the result, simply click on the free screen and the color scheme will be saved.
