Windows 8.1: Resize tiles
Windows 8.1 gives you new ways to resize tiles. In addition to the normal and the wide version, you can also create large tiles that take up four times the area of a normal tile. There is also a small version that only shows an icon with a colored background. The area is then limited to a quarter of the normal size.
Resize tiles in Windows 8.1
- Use the Windows key to go to the Windows 8.1 Start menu.
- Right click on the tile you want to change. You can even select multiple tiles at once and resize them.
- In the menu bar that appears below, click on "Change size". Here you select the desired size of the tile.
- Note, however, that not every size is available for every type of tile. In addition, the live content of a tile is deactivated if you set the size to "Small".
This guide applies to Windows 8.1 Pro. With a small tool, you can even create very individual tiles for your home screen. You can find out how this works in this practical tip.
