Windows 8.1: Exit standby without a password

In Windows 8.1, you can exit standby without having to enter the password again. It is then only queried during normal start-up and when waking up from the so-called idle state. In this practical tip you will find out where to find the corresponding option.
Wake Windows 8.1 from standby without a password
- Go to the home screen and look for "Power Options". Open the tile of the same name.
- Select "Request password on reactivation" on the left.
- You may not be able to select all of the settings in this menu. In this case, click on the blue link "Some settings are currently not available".
- Then set the selection to "Password is not required" and click on Save changes. Your PC will then no longer be locked after standby mode.
