Windows 8: Deactivate App Store - Here's how
If you are bothered by the app store in Windows 8, you can also deactivate it. We'll show you exactly how that works.
Deactivate Windows 8 App Store - you have to do that
- Open the registry editor with the key combination [Windows] + [r] and enter "regedit" there.
- Then change to the path "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Policies \ Microsoft".
- Right-click on the "Microsoft" key and select "Create new key".
- Then name the new key as "WindowsStore".
- Right-click in a free field on the right and select "New"> "Create DWORD value (32-bit)".
- Name this "RemoveWindowsStore" and then open it with a double click.
- Enter a "1" as a value. The store is then deactivated. To undo this, simply delete the "WindowsStore" key.
