With the audio recorder app in Windows 8, you can easily create and cut sound recordings. We'll explain how to use the app properly.

- Tap the "Audio Recorder" in the Windows 8 Apps view. Alternatively, click on the arrow pointing downwards and then on the recorder icon.
- Click the large microphone button in the middle of the app.
- The sound recording starts immediately. If you would like to end the recording again, click on the stop button in the middle.
- You can also pause the recording and then continue. To do this, click on the small pause button below the stop icon.
- Shorten your recordings by marking the respective file in the right display and clicking the "Shorten" button below.
- Move the play bar controls to the place you want to cut. Then click on "Ok" at the bottom right.
- In an open menu you can now choose between "Save copy" or "Update original". If you want to overwrite the previous file, select "Update original".
