Windows 8 library icons change
In order to better differentiate the libraries under Windows 8, you have the option to change the symbols. We'll show you how it's done.
Windows 8: Change symbols of the libraries
- Open Windows Explorer using, for example, the key combination "Windows" and "E".
- Click on the "Libraries" in the navigation bar on the left. Select the one you want here. Please note, however, that the standard libraries of images, documents, music and videos cannot be edited.
- Now right-click on the library and select "Properties" from the context menu.
- A new window opens in which you click on the "Change library symbol" button at the bottom left.
- Select one of the numerous Smyboles here and then confirm your selection by clicking on "OK" and again on "OK".
In Windows 8.1, the libraries are hidden by default. This practical tip shows you how to show them again.
