With the switch-off button in energy-saving mode - how it works

Most manufacturers pre-configure their devices so that notebooks or tablets switch to energy-saving mode as soon as you press the power button. If this is not the case for you, you can configure it in the settings as follows:

1. Search for "energy" in the Metro interface. The top search result should now be the "Energy Options" item from the Control Panel. Click on this entry.
2. In the window that opens, you will find the option "Select what should happen when you press the power button" on the left.
3. Now you can configure the desired behavior of your PC or tablet and set the device so that it shuts down completely or switches to energy-saving mode, for example.
4. If you are using a laptop, you will also find the menu item "Select what should happen when the computer is closed". Here, too, you can specify different regulations for battery and mains operation.
