Windows 8: Turn off Fast Boot

The Fast Boot integrated in Windows 8 should ensure a faster system start. However, you should switch it off if you want to use several operating systems in parallel: The feature could otherwise cause problems. In this practical tip, we will show you where to find the appropriate setting.
Disable Fast Boot on Windows 8
Go to the home screen and look for "Power Options". Open the tile of the same name:
- Select the item "Select what should happen when you press the power button".
- On the new pages, first click on "Some settings are currently not available".
- Scroll to the very bottom of the same page and remove the checkmark at the fourth last point "Activate quick start".
- Finally, click on "Save changes".
