Windows 8: group tiles in groups
The more tiles you have, the more confusing the Windows 8 home page becomes. We'll show you how to group apps together to create order.
Group tiles in Windows 8
To create a new group, drag a tile while holding down the left mouse button into the space between two other groups or to the right of it until Windows shows a white bar. If you put the app there now, a new group is created. You can now arrange additional apps directly.
Name tile groups under Win 8
It is also helpful to give the groups a meaningful name:
- To do this, hold down the [Ctrl] key and turn the mouse wheel to zoom out. Or you can use the zoom gesture on a touchpad.
- In the mini view, right-click on a group and then click on the "Name group" command shown below.
- Now enter an appropriate name such as "Games" or "Office" and confirm with »Name«.
Note: While you can only move individual tiles in the normal view, the reduced view also makes it possible to rearrange entire groups using drag and drop.
