Show / hide the volume symbol in the task bar

1. Start the Control Panel in Windows 8 by clicking on the Windows button and entering "Control Panel".
2. Select the item "Display and adjustment" here.
3. In the next window click on "Adjust icons on the taskbar" under the item "Taskbar".
4. In the settings window, select an option next to the "Volume" option in the selection menu.
5. You can either show or hide the icon and notification, or just show the notification.
