Windows 8: share folders
There are three different ways you can share a folder in Windows 8:
- Public folder: In Explorer you will not only find your user folder under the path "C: \ Users", but also the user "Public". All user accounts have access to this. Here you can simply insert your folder.
- Share folder locally: Right-click on the desired folder and select the desired user under "Share with". The latter can then access the folder via Explorer.
- Share folders in the network: If you want users in the same network to access your files from other computers, right-click the folder again. Under "Share with, " select "Specific people." Here you can choose your "home network group".
- Note: The same settings can also be found directly in Explorer. Simply open the desired folder and switch to the "Share" tab at the top.
